Cascading Changes for a Parched Public
CC_502LERV
Cascading Changes is rooted in the belief that a small initial change can trigger a series of transformations within a system. Our goal is to provide access to clean water, a pressing global issue, by developing a series of systems for water collection, filtration, and distribution. This approach will not only meet the communities’ needs but also enhance their overall well-being. While it can be adapted to any informal settlement worldwide, it particularly focuses on Mumbai’s seasonal changes. The dry season is designated for water storage, while the wet season ensures a continuous water supply. Bamboo’s flexibility allows for expansion and contraction, enabling the storage and release of water sufficient for approximately 1 million residents, potentially allowing them to be off the grid within a 20-million-person megacity.
